The Class of 2000 Scholarship
As the Class of 2000 celebrates its 25th Reunion, classmates are coming together to create a lasting legacy by establishing the Class of 2000 Scholarship. This endowed fund will support financial aid, ensuring that future generations of Ephs have access to a Williams education, regardless of financial circumstances.
Williams has long been a leader in financial aid, and its groundbreaking True Affordability initiative has reinforced the college’s commitment to making Williams accessible to all students. After thoughtful discussion and a class-wide survey, the Class of 2000 chose financial aid as the focus of their milestone reunion gift, stepping forward as staunch supporters of Williams’ transformative initiative.
Williams alumni have always seen Financial aid as a generational responsibility and the Class of 2000 is excited to be carrying that legacy forward. To maximize their impact, classmates have set an ambitious goal to qualify for the True Affordability Matching Initiative, which will match every dollar raised once the funding minimum for the scholarship has been met. In addition to cash gifts, classmates are making strategic use of gift planning tools, including grants from donor advised funds (DAFs) and gifts of appreciated securities, to support their Class Scholarship.
The 25th Reunion is a defining moment for the Class of 2000, not just to reconnect, but to give back in a meaningful way, ensuring that Williams students continue to thrive, regardless of financial circumstance. Through this scholarship, the Class of 2000 will create a gift that will live in perpetuity as an enduring source of support for future Williams students. Their 25th Reunion Fund is more than a class milestone; it’s a commitment to True Affordability and ensuring that Williams remains accessible for generations to come.
“Financial aid from Williams meant so much to us as undergrads. Now, as parents with kids going off to college, we see how important it is for the next generation to realize their dreams too. We are happy to make a multi-year pledge to the Class Fund to ensure deserving high schoolers get the chance to become Ephs!”
